Pre-theatre at La Gamba
We're a family-run tapas restaurant at the Southbank Centre, right on the river. With the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Hayward Gallery all on our doorstep, pre-theatre and pre-concert dining is something we know how to do well.
Whether you've got a couple of hours to settle in, or thirty minutes to share a few plates and a glass of cava before a show, we'll work around your evening. Just tell us what time the curtain goes up and we'll take care of the rest.

Our menu is designed to get you to your seat on time, without rushing the meal. Our full tapas menu is available, so you can order as much or as little as you like.
A few plates go a long way. We recommend our gambas al ajillo, patatas bravas, and pan con tomate. If you’ve got time to sit and enjoy a bigger meal, try our arroz de marisco or slow-cooked carrilladas. As an independent, family-run restaurant, we source the best local produce we can, with seafood that's responsibly caught, wild and British where available.

Location
You'll find us tucked inside London's Southbank Centre, right on the river. It’s about as close to the curtain as you can get.
The Royal Festival Hall is on our doorstep, with the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Hayward Gallery just alongside, so you're only minutes from your seat. The National Theatre and BFI Southbank are a short walk east along the river, and the London Eye is roughly five minutes away on foot.
Waterloo station is about a five-minute walk, with National Rail plus the Jubilee, Northern, Bakerloo and Waterloo & City lines. Embankment is just across the Golden Jubilee footbridges, and more than 20 bus routes stop within a few minutes of the Centre on Waterloo Bridge and Belvedere Road. We’re proud to be an independent and family-owned restaurant in the heart of one of London's busiest culture hubs.
